What does a Furniture Bank do?

A Furniture Bank is similar to a Food Bank with this difference: Furniture Banks distribute furniture and household items to families in need. In the spirit of community and with great appreciation, Bridging accepts donations of new and gently used furniture and household items.  In collaboration with social service agencies and churches who qualify families in need, we have distributed 200,000′s items in the past 8 years. We are not alone!  There are over 80 Furniture Banks throughout the country. For a complete list, please see http://www.furniturebanks.org/   If you are interested in our program, please see our Agency Services tab or our FAQ’s. Here is List of social service programs we support

Beds for Kids

Kid in Bed

Bridging accepts donations of mattresses and box springs in good or better condition to provide to children for our “BEDS FOR KIDS” Program.  Donated beds are cleaned and sterilized with the disinfectant Steri-Fab.  The mattresses are then wrapped in plastic, ensuring they remain clean until the time Bridging finds them a new home.  We  accept TWIN, FULL AND QUEEN SIZE BEDS.  Sorry, we do not accept king size or CA king size beds.

RECYCLE FEE: $7.50 PER PIECE, $15.00 PER 2 PIECE SET.  If you are no longer in need of your bedframe, please know that we are happy to accept all sizes.

Clean, comfy “BEDS FOR KIDS”- One of Bridging’s favorite programs!

If you don’t have a bed to donate at this time you can help is with a donation to continue this important program.

Reduce Reuse Recycle

Follow this….You need a new kitchen table and chairs.  Alas, your set is a little shop worn.  After all, it was a major player at mealtime for your family for over ten years.  Inspiration- You donate it to Bridging.   A downtown church has two volunteers at Bridging who fancy themselves artists.   They take your table and chairs; the table gets a fresh coat of bright yellow, the chairs are painted deep blue and crisp white.  Divine intervention: A church uptown needs a kitchen table and chairs for a parishioner.  A beautiful circle is complete.  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
