A foundation of service
Bridging AZ is founded, beginning a lasting commitment to essential furniture and household goods in Arizona.
Bridging AZ · Furniture That Changes Lives
Serving Arizona since 2004, with a commitment to dignity that continues today.
Founded in 2004, Bridging AZ grew from a simple conviction: furniture can change lives. Founder Jim Piscopo, a U.S. military veteran, helped build an organization committed to making homes possible for people emerging from homelessness.

Historical chapters
Work with veterans and work involving children are important parts of our organizational history. They are not the current fundraising focus.
Historical impact
In the past five years, Bridging AZ furnished 1,500+ apartments for previously homeless veterans. This figure represents historical impact, not a current veteran fundraising program.
Since 2004
Furniture and household goods have reached families in need throughout Arizona over 20+ years of service.
Today
Our current focus is furnishing apartments for people with mental and physical disabilities who have experienced homelessness, through social service agencies and caseworkers.
Current financial contributions support our agency-based disability focus. Historical veteran and children’s programs are preserved as history, not promoted as current fundraising. The Welcome Box program is discontinued.
